The Janus moment

Seeing picture of old Times Square, in previous post, once presided over with much less ceremony by Dick Clark, reminds me. Back then, Janus really was two faced: you looked up to watch the ball drop,then as soon as it did you did a quick about face and got the hell out of there. Totally different feeling.
